Top Seven Books Being Released in 2014

 Release Date:  August 5, 2014

Lair of Dreams (The Diviners, #2)

Quibbles about this blasted cover aside, I loved The Diviners and can't wait to see how things are going to develop in this book!  (Although judging by my lack of ability to remember anything from The Diviners, it looks like I'll be rereading that first)

Release Date: July 8, 2014

Unravel (Linked, #2)

In stark contrast to the previous book, this cover is AWESOME (even if I don't totally understand its relation to the book).  I am feeling very well disposed towards this book as Linked was probably one of my favourite books of this year and it didn't end on a cliffhanger so I have absolutely no idea where this book is going to go.  And you know what?   I love that.

Release Date: March 13, 2014

The Assassin's Blade (Throne of Glass, #0.1-0.5)

On Sarah J. Maas's blog she says this is going to be all her novellas available as a hard copy.  YAY!  So far it's only listed as an ebook on Goodreads, but I trust the author.  And I haven't read the 5th novella yet, so I'll even get to read something new!

The Last Forever - Deb Caletti
Release Date:  April 1, 2014

The Last Forever

The only book on this list that isn't part of a series!  Thank God I've got at least one non-series book to look forward to!  Deb Caletti has been mentioned on my blog a billion times.  She's one of my favourite authors and is one of the only contemporary YA authors I regularly read (the other being Sarah Dessen.  If you like Sarah Dessen you'll love Deb Caletti!), so I'm always on the lookout when one of her books is being released.

Clariel (Abhorsen #4) - Garth Nix
Release Date:  September 2014 (speculated to be pushed back to November)

Abhorsen Trilogy : Clariel by Gwenhwyfar28

Surprisingly there seems to be very little fan art for this book.  This fan art is done by Gwenhwyfhar28 .  As someone who lived and breathed the Abhorsen trilogy for most of my childhood, I am so excited for this!!

Unmade (Lynburn Legacy #3)- Sarah Rees Brennan
Release Date: 2014 sometime

Can I say how much I LOVE this fanart?  It's done by Cassandra Jean and she did one for pretty much all the characters and they are AWESOME!  (She also did a bunch for the Shadowhunters as well if you read TMI).  If you've read some of my other TTT lists you've already seen this book come up and if you follow my blog, you know that Unspoken is tied with another book I will mention shortly as my favourite read of the entire year.

Untitled ToG #3 - Sara J. Maas
 Release Date:  Sometime in 2014

Ok I'm a diehard Chaolaena shipper, but this was too cute not to pick!  Fanart done by Deesney.  I have managed NOT to review Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight, or any of the novellas but I WILL.  Crown of Midnight is the book tied with Unspoken for my favourite book of the year.  There aren't even words for how much I love this book.  If you haven't read Throne of Glass, you need to, and if you didn't love Throne of Glass (which is impossible) read Crown of Midnight because it is even better.

The Price of Dreams (Abarat #4) - Clive Barker
Release Date:  Sometime in 2014

Ok, any followers of the blog definitely know of my pure, unadulterated love for Abarat.  This book doesn't have a cover either, but you know what's great?  You don't need fanart when you've got the author himself to paint the books for you.  This is a painting featured in the beginning of the first book (in case you were wondering).  Sadly...I don't actually 100% believe this will be coming out in 2014 :(  Clive Barker is a bit notorious for pushing back publishing dates with this series.  But he's done a bunch of paintings  for this book which is a great sign and I'm betting on it coming out by 2015!

And that's it for this week's TTT!  What's on your list?  Leave a link below!  (Really - do leave a link or I can't find your blog!)

  3. I can't wait for Lair of Dreams also (although the cover is ick!!!)... and I love Deb Caletti so I will definitely be reading that one :)

  4. I loved Throne of Glass & the 4 novellas, although I still haven't read Crown of Midnight or the 5th novella, so I'm really excited about The Assassin's Blade, too, and that cover is gorgeous :)

  8. I was wondering about that! I wasn't crazy for thinking it was coming out earlier then

  9. Thank goodness! I feel like no one ever reads Deb Caletti

  10. I love the redesigned covers! They look SO badass. You need to get to CoM PRONTO because if you thought you were in love with the books so far, trust me. You don't know what love is.

  11. Hahaha I feel like Clariel has been on every TTT list I've done this month!

...oh wait. I've only done 2 of them so...technically it was on all of them this month haha

  12. Love the cover for Unravel! Must read the first one!

  13. Judging by your list I'd say to definitely check out Libba Bray and Deb Caletti, but really I'd stand by any of these authors as most of them have been in my favourite authors list for years!

  14. Nope none on your list, but we've definitely fangirled over a few of these already haha. WE HAVE AWESOME TASTE.

  15. It's really awesome - it's sci-fi but not too heavily so, so I'd recommend it to most people regardless of genre taste!

  16. Oh, hahaha! I remember now that I tried to not do sequels. I think when I originally started the list, it was ALL sequels. :D

  17. I know very few of these which is fun for me:) I am tentatively looking forward to Lair of Dreams - I have a complicated reading relationship with Libba Bray I'm afraid. I do however without hesitations love Garth Nix - he is so crazy imaginative - BUT I have not yet read the Abhorsen series despite owning Sabriel. I need to get on it! Love the fan art as well. Thanks for all the ideas and recommendations!

  18. That was a good call - clearly I struggled as I only included one that wasn't a sequel!

  19. I can't believe you haven't read the Abhorsen series yet! If you love Garth Nix's other works, the Abhorsen series is even better in my opinion. It does lean more towards fantasy whereas his other books I've read usually have some sci-fi aspects, but I could not recommend it more! You should catch up and read the trilogy and then we should read Clariel together :) (You've got a year!)

  20. Thanks for the recommendations, will be sure to look up their works on GR :)

  21. OMG. So many good books next year. Throne of Glass novellas, next book in the series. Diviners! I forgot about half of these!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I definitely left a few off this list as well by accident - I'm terrible about keeping track of release dates!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Awesome list, once again. A bunch of these on on my list too...or at least the list in my head. I can't remember if they made them onto my TTT? And now I'm just rambling... ;)
