Top Authors I've Only Read One Book From But NEED to Read More

This week's topic is really fun, and is definitely helping me sort my TBR list a bit more!  Pictures of the books are the one book I've read and link to reviews of the books!

Looking for Alaska

Next Book:  I'm still preparing myself for the trauma that will come with TFIOS, so I'm thinking Paper Towns is a more likely second book.

Fangirl

Next Book: Interracial relationship with a Korean boy/white girl?  It's like Eleanor & Park was made for me.

The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox

Next Book:  The Hand That Held Mine seems most similar to The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox, but honestly it'll probably be whichever one I come across first!

Seeing Red

Next Book: How to choose?! She deals with SO many things I love and want in my books!  Mental illness, acceptance, I just...I want to read all of them. Now. Mockingbird, Quaking, and The Absolute Value of Mike all just look so amazing!

Cat Patrick

Next Book:  Forgotten has mostly good reviews for reviewers I trust, so it seems like a good place to start!

Sarah Beth Durst

Next Book: How is I only discovered her last year? She has so many books, and they're in so many different genres!  I'm a sucker for fairy tale interpretations, so Into the Wild is easily at the top of the list, as is Vessel.  It doesn't hurt that Tamora Pierce rated both books 5 stars!

Martine Leavitt

Keturah and Lord Death

Next Book:  Wow. Martine Leavitt's books are mostly very different from this one.  The Dragon's Tapestry is the first of what looks to be her only other fantasy series.

Jodi Lynn Anderson

Next Book: May Bird and the Ever After looks very different from Tiger Lily (which is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read), but it also looks like a ton of fun!

Stephanie Perkins

Anna and the French Kiss (Anna and the French Kiss, #1)

Next Book: Well that's easy enough - Lola and the Boy Next Door.
Next Book:  Definitely the sequel to this, The Princess and the Bear, although The Rose Throne also shows lots of promise!

  2. I adore Eleanor & Park. It's my favourite of those Rainbow Rowell has had published!

  3. Stephanie Perkins is awesome. You should definitely finish off the Anna and the French Kiss series. The only other authors I've heard of from your list are Rainbow Rowell and John Green. Though I haven't read any of their books. Need to change that soon.

  4. I love it when I see people who've read and loved Tiger Lily! John Green also made my list this week, he seems to be a popular one but most people have only read TFIOS. =)

  5. Great list! I should've totally put Sarah Beth Durst on my list, too, I've read only one, and it was so fun, and I need to read more, but it slipped my mind.

I hope you'll enjoy all of these. I've tried & enjoyed John Green, Rainbow Rowell & Stephane Perkins' books, too. The rest are part of my TBR pile, but haven't gotten around to them.

  6. I think I'm one of the few who wasn't blown away by The Fault In Our Stars. I mean, I liked it, but it wasn't anything extraordinary. Still, you might like it better than I did. I've also read Fangirl and Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. They're were good, but I don't understand the hype around her yet. Loved Tiger Lily, I didn't know she'd written anything else! I'll have to check that out. I've recently read Lola and the Boy Next Door, wasn't that impressed, but I did order Isla and the Happily Ever After last night :) Anna was so cute.

  7. Eleanor And Park is quite good, but I loved Fangirl more. XD The truth of an introvert was just too perfect in there! And Paper Towns is a good second choice after TFIOS. XD I really did like Looking for Alaska, but not so much for An Abundance of Katherines. Here's my TTT!

  8. I loved Conjured too. I have The Lost and Chasing Power to review soon, so I'm going to finally read more than one book by her! I also only read one John Green book. I'm still recovering from TFiOS

  9. I loved Anna and the French Kiss! Stephanie Perkins is also on my list this week. I've heard of Rainbow Rowell but I'm not sure if I'll ever read her works; contemporary isn't really my thing (Anna was quite a pleasant exception). I've had The Princess and the Hound on my TBR list for quite some time, but haven't gotten around to reading it yet!

    Here's my TTT!

  10. I definitely think Maggie O'Farrell is up your alley. I mean obviously I've only read one book, so I can't confirm the others, but I at least feel like Vanishing Act is totally something you'd like!

  11. Anna and the French Kiss was so cute! Hopefully I'll find a day when I can go to the library and get a card (I just moved). It's been too hectic so far :(. But when it happens, Lola awaits!

  12. Yeah it's definitely one of those books that is just...special somehow. That was by far one of my favourite reads last year.

Yeah - I wasn't surprised a lot of people had only read TFIOS, I'm one of the few loners out there who hasn't read it. And I'm a super special unicorn because a lot of people who haven't read it just aren't interested in reading anything by him haha!

  13. Her writing in Conjured was so evocative, so I'm excited to see what all her books are like since they seem so varied!

I'm slowly but surely reading more contemporary fiction, so these should be happening relatively soon I think :)

  14. Yeah I'm not sure if it's even possible for me to love it as much as everyone else because I'm notorious for not loving hyped up books. And I'm really excited to check out Jodi Lynn Anderson's other books because Tiger Lily was just...it feels special :)

  15. Yeah, she definitely nailed Cath's character pretty much perfectly - she felt so real! I've heard pretty mixed opinions on An Abundance of Katherines, so it's been pushed down my list.

  16. Oooh I'll have to check it out when you review it! And yeah, I get the impression TFiOS is a thing that takes a while to recover from haha

  17. We're definitely the same then haha - all of the contemporaries on the list are exceptions as I rarely read the genre (although I am trying. Clearly. I have some on this list yay!) The Princess and the Hound is definitely for a specific type of reader - it reads the same way fairy tales do. It's kind of like a new fairy tale (vs a retelling), which I happen to love - that's my niche of fantasy right there (along with retellings). So I hope you like it!

  18. I've totally been there - my comments box once disappeared for an entire week haha!

  19. There's four authors on here that catch my avaricious eye! Mette Ivie Harrison, Jody Lynn Anderson (what's with the everybody using all three names?), Martine Leavitt and Sarah Beth Durst (See??!!).

  20. Ooh avaricious that's a fantastic word! I think all of them are really fantastic authors (well from what I've seen of other reviews of Harrison's books I might just stick to this series), so hopefully one of them makes their way to you!
