I have never been disappointed by her. But...I guess with almost 30 books under your belt ONE of them was bound to do that. This went beyond disappointment though - I am HORRIFIED by the ending and I'm not sure I'Elizabethhttp://oboechica-books.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178753992132096505.post-48568668458000534592015-04-19T00:48:35.594-04:002015-04-19T00:48:35.594-04:00I don't usually like first person OR present t...I don't usually like first person OR present tense so now that you've mentioned it I'm surprised the combination of the two didn't bother me at all haha! And it is told in alternating perspectives, so Day narrates and then June will narrate. (Which with a name like Day is totally confusing lol!)Elizabethhttp://oboechica-books.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178753992132096505.post-29566422356009850712015-04-19T00:47:09.991-04:002015-04-19T00:47:09.991-04:00Ooof. I wouldn't be feeling particularly optimistic, movies don't have a great track record with that (I'm looking at you every American adaption of manga ever. Or the new Peter Pan.) And it's mentioned so many times in the series that if they make it a point with other movies, they really need to make it a point with this one! And YES that ending was a total put my heart Elizabethhttp://oboechica-books.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178753992132096505.post-23474260466326993482015-04-19T00:42:10.930-04:002015-04-19T00:42:10.930-04:00Yeah I think doing option C was really the best be...Yeah I think doing option C was really the best because I would have been disappointed with A or B, so despite making me go all NOO WHY NOO...it was still the best option haha. And yes! I'm not sure you'll be sold on the series after Legend, but the second book is definitely an improvement. And if you don't like the second book, the series probably isn't for you (but then of course you've already committed to 2/3 of the series by that point haha).<br /Elizabethhttp://oboechica-books.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178753992132096505.post-64930290871319825672015-04-16T21:20:56.897-04:002015-04-16T21:20:56.897-04:00I unfortunately didn't feel the same way as yo...I unfortunately didn't feel the same way as you did about the ending of Champion. It upset me so much that when I finished the book, I shoved it under my bed and pretended I'd never read it. Apparently, I can go into hard-core denial when a book's conclusion isn't what I want it to be. :-P

On the positive side, though, I can recommend a good female rogue: Jacky Angela @ Angelas Libraryhttp://angelaslibrary.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178753992132096505.post-11043361585538814642015-04-16T17:54:42.046-04:002015-04-16T17:54:42.046-04:00You're making me really want to read this seri...You're making me really want to read this series now. I gave it a pass because of the first person present tense - two things that really don't work for me but that I have read before (with mixed results). I am wondering though, is it a rotating first person? It befuddled me a little when I clicked on the preview and it said 'Day' in big letters and now I find out that's a Amyhttp://pagesofstarlight.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178753992132096505.post-58388142472796461242015-04-16T12:39:10.514-04:002015-04-16T12:39:10.514-04:00I love this series and I love that you love it! I ...I love this series and I love that you love it! I am so scared that they are making a movie because almost all the characters are mixed race and it's nerve-wracking, waiting casting news. (Same with The Young Elites which recently got picked up too.) I mean, even if racism/heterosexism isn't a thing the Republic, it most certainly is in our world so some representation would be neat. *Yashnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7178753992132096505.post-81065629305707798872015-04-16T12:16:29.239-04:002015-04-16T12:16:29.239-04:00Oh! And female rogues: Lila from A Darker Shade of Magic (stop reading that book and go read this book now!!), Adelina from The Young Elites (sort of...she kind of becomes a rogue), Ananna from The Assassin's Curse. I thought we were going to end up with A or B too and I was annoyed because it seemed SO. OBVIOUS. But then! C happens and I cried and wished for B. I was fully prepared to be so so mad at this book and then the epilogue happens. I am heartbroken, but filled with hope.
